Outside of my knowledge of the Bay Area housing market trends, I offer what I consider to be a valuable substance.  That substance is a heart for people.  I have serviced clients throughout the Bay Area for several decades.  The first thing I do is sit down and talk with the buyers or sellers so I can get a clear understanding of their goals and expectations.  I consider that a very important first step.  I like to start there and once that is established, we are off to the races!
